Become a volunteer tutor!
No experience is necessary, and we will support you at every step.
Volunteers partner with students to tutor in reading, writing, math, science or social studies, depending on their interest. They meet in person at our West Oakland site or online via Zoom.
We provide all the curriculum and materials. Students are assessed in reading and math by Next Step, and their individualized curriculum is well-organized and easy to follow.
Volunteers typically tutor for 2 hours per session, once or twice a week, Monday - Thursday between 10am-3pm. Additional online tutoring is available for students and tutors who prefer evenings or weekends.
